Key Skills Required
- Strong experience with Linux system and network administration
- Deep understanding of Linux clusters, compilers, schedulers, and common HPC applications
- Hands-on experience in enterprise environments and datacenter operations
- Expertise in writing, debugging, and maintaining shell scripts
- Proficiency in installation, configuration, and support of Linux servers
- Strong knowledge of Squid Proxy Server, Samba, FTP, NFS, and DNS Servers
- Familiarity with server log management and troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of systems administration duties including storage management,
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to independently resolve issues without escalations
- Proven verbal and written communication skills
- Exposure to server hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with system monitoring tools and security best practices
- Basic understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity concepts
- Exposure to scripting languages like Python or Perl (added advantage)
- Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Linux servers and associated applications
- Write, test, and maintain shell scripts to automate routine system administration tasks
- Manage server logs proactively and address system errors or warnings
- Troubleshoot and repair server hardware issues efficiently
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of Linux server infrastructure
- Configure and manage network services like FTP, DNS, NFS, Samba, and Proxy Servers
- Conduct periodic system audits and ensure compliance with organizational policies
- Assist in the design and implementation of Linux clusters and high-performance computing (HPC) solutions
- Document all processes, configurations, and procedures for system administration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for environment setup, testing, and deployment
- Maintain system security through applying patches, updates, and proactive monitoring
