The Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for managing enterprise-level systems, specialized Linux operating systems, cross-domain solutions, and customer service. As part of a cross-functional team, the Administrator ensures robust systems performance, security compliance, and operational excellence. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration: Perform Linux command-line administration, troubleshoot systems and associated hardware/software, and manage system/server builds.
Security Compliance: Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and address vulnerabilities identified by Information Assurance (IA) teams based on scan findings and Department of Defense (DoD) directives.
Enterprise Solutions: Manage cross-domain enterprise-level solutions, including boundary devices and secure network components.
System Imaging: Re-image workstations, servers, and databases (both physical and virtual).
Technical Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting for Linux systems and ensure smooth system operation for end-users.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience for bachelor's degree holders or 3 years for master's degree holders.
Preferred Skills And Certifications
Strong proficiency in Red Hat Linux administration and command-line operations.
Experience with applying STIGs and mitigating system vulnerabilities.
Background in managing cross-domain solutions and enterprise-level systems.
Advanced troubleshooting skills and detail-oriented problem-solving capabilities.
Clearance Requirements
Active TS/SCI Security Clearance: Required at the time of hire.
Must be willing and able to obtain a polygraph within a specified timeframe.
