Summary

Job Responsibility

SERVICE 1: RESIDENT ENGINEER

  • Perform hardening or remediation as per required or recommended based on the 3 rd party vulnerability scanning report to be provided by client.
  • Perform hardening services based on checklist to be provided by client, these services apply to new or existing VM or physical server.
  • The services apply to the following operating system only:
  • Â Â a. Windows Server OS
  • Â Â b. Linux OS (Mainly Red Hat & CentOS)
  • Â Â c. For other OS, best effort, guidance & training may be required
  • The services can either be done manually or via automation using Ansible.
  • The services only include the following tasks:
  • Â Â a. Apply configuration changes
  • Â Â b. Apply minor patches or hotfixes (Major upgrade is excluded)
  • Resident engineer will be reporting to client office for the duration of the contract during office hours (8x5, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays)
  • Resident engineer can be temporary assigned to assist with any BAU activities but will required to notify Wiki Labs of the activities required to be performed by the resident engineer. May require guidance or training to be provided by client.
  • 1 Week with 8 hours Overtime (Spread among the business working days and anything above subject to discussion & additional charges)

Assumptions

  • Ansible playbooks are existing
  • Resident engineer will be provided access to required systems to perform the above services
  • Client to provide building access, permit, laptop, etc as the resident engineer will be reporting to client office. Â Â Â

Specialization

  • Expertise in system hardening (Windows Server & Linux).
  • Vulnerability management and report remediation.
  • Automation with Ansible.
  • Strong skills in Linux and Windows system administration.
  • Basic networking and security knowledge. Â Â

Job Requirements

  • Â Malaysian ONLY
  • Experience in gaining and managing administrative access for performing system hardening and applying security configurations on both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with accessing systems remotely and performing tasks securely using VPNs and other access protocols.
  • Practical experience with Ansible, including writing and executing playbooks for system hardening, configuration changes, and patch management.
  • Understanding of automating tasks for both Linux (Red Hat & CentOS) and Windows Server OS environments.
  • Proficiency with vulnerability scanning tools and interpreting reports.
  • Experience in applying remediation based on third-party vulnerability reports.
  • Ability to apply minor patches and hotfixes on various systems, ensuring minimal downtime and following organizational best practices for system maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of security configurations, firewalls, and networking protocols to ensure secure communication and proper system hardening.
  • Ability to document activities, report progress on BAU tasks, and communicate effectively with the client as well as internally to Wiki Labs.
  • Familiarity with the infrastructure tools and systems used for patch management, system monitoring, and security (e.g., Red Hat Satellite, Microsoft WSUS, or similar tools). Â Â
