Linux Engineer – Contract Position with Potential for Full-Time Conversion
Location: Onsite 5 Days/Week – Berkeley Heights, NJ or Alpharetta, GA

Join a leading provider of global fintech infrastructure as a Linux Engineer in a full-time onsite contract role. This position offers the potential for conversion to permanent employment based on performance and business needs. You'll play a key role in supporting and automating Linux platforms that power secure, high-availability payment and transaction services worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, Perl, and Ansible.
Handle patching and lifecycle management of RHEL 7–9 systems using Red Hat Satellite and Ansible Automation Platform.
Implement and support Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) solutions, including Active Directory integration.
Monitor Linux environments for security vulnerabilities and ensure remediation and compliance.
Apply server hardening best practices, leveraging CIS benchmarks and Red Hat policies.
Follow ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for audits, configurations, and operational continuity.
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to improve system reliability and automation.
Participate in an on-call rotation and perform updates during scheduled maintenance windows.
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience, focused on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7–9).
Expertise with Ansible Automation Platform, playbook development, and infrastructure automation.
Practical knowledge of Red Hat IDM and access control solutions.
Scripting proficiency in Bash, Python, or Perl.
Experience with Red Hat Satellite for patching and system lifecycle management.
Familiarity with virtualization (VMware) and cloud platforms like Azure.
Understanding of Linux security, including SELinux, firewalls, and intrusion prevention.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work/military experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation.
Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or hybrid cloud environments.
Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on proactive, automated solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
