Linux Engineer - Contract Position with Potential for Full-Time Conversion

Join a leading provider of global fintech infrastructure as a Linux Engineer in a full-time onsite contract role. This position offers the potential for conversion to permanent employment based on performance and business needs. You'll play a key role in supporting and automating Linux platforms that power secure, high-availability payment and transaction services worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, Perl, and Ansible.
* Handle patching and lifecycle management of RHEL 7-9 systems using Red Hat Satellite and Ansible Automation Platform.
* Implement and support Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) solutions, including Active Directory integration.
* Monitor Linux environments for security vulnerabilities and ensure remediation and compliance.
* Apply server hardening best practices, leveraging CIS benchmarks and Red Hat policies.
* Follow ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation for audits, configurations, and operational continuity.
* Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to improve system reliability and automation.
* Participate in an on-call rotation and perform updates during scheduled maintenance windows.
Required Qualifications:
* 4+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience, focused on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7-9).
* Expertise with Ansible Automation Platform, playbook development, and infrastructure automation.
* Practical knowledge of Red Hat IDM and access control solutions.
* Scripting proficiency in Bash, Python, or Perl.
* Experience with Red Hat Satellite for patching and system lifecycle management.
* Familiarity with virtualization (VMware) and cloud platforms like Azure.
* Understanding of Linux security, including SELinux, firewalls, and intrusion prevention.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work/military experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation.
* Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or hybrid cloud environments.
* Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on proactive, automated solutions.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
