About the Opportunity:
We’re looking for a LIMS Technical Consultant who can help lead the evolution of our Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). This role will drive system upgrades, day-to-day support, and new enhancements to ensure our platforms are reliable, compliant, and delivering maximum business value.
You’ll play a key role in consolidating and optimizing multiple LIMS environments into a streamlined, efficient ecosystem. If you thrive in a hands-on technical role with meaningful impact — while collaborating closely with business and IT partners — we’d love to hear from you.
This position is available as a direct hire or a 6-month contract-to-hire engagement.
Hybrid schedule: on-site 3 or more days per week required.
What You’ll Do:
LIMS Lifecycle Management
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) and trusted advisor for LIMS systems across the Americas.
- Lead system lifecycle activities, including upgrades, migrations, and consolidations.
- Partner closely with business process owners to design system architecture and execute system integrations and improvements.
Enhancements and Innovation
- Lead implementation of new LIMS instances: requirements gathering, configuration, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment, and hypercare.
- Identify and drive opportunities for continuous system improvements and enhancements.
- Support system upgrades, validations, and patch deployments within structured change control processes.
- Help shape global governance and best practices for LIMS systems.
User Support and Compliance
- Triage and resolve user support requests, escalating as needed to ensure rapid, high-quality resolution.
- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, regression testing scripts, training materials, and compliance records.
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory standards and data integrity requirements.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and best practice recommendations to peers and business teams.
What You Bring:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience working with LIMS platforms (Thermo Fisher Sample Manager experience highly preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing or laboratory environments (preferred but not required).
- Proven experience leading system upgrades, enhancements, migrations, and validations in highly regulated settings.
- Ability to partner effectively across IT and business teams to deliver high-impact technical solutions.
