Summary

Facilitate access to library resources, technologies, and materials, as they apply to the Macomb Community College library clientele. Ensure proper implementation of library public services, including the security of library materials, patron privacy, document delivery, stack management, billing, and cross-campus delivery of materials. Manage circulation and patron privileges. Represent the libraries in a professional manner to the campus and community as a first-stop information desk. * Work closely with library faculty to foster collaboration between library staff and faculty and to promote a team environment for seamless integration of library public access services, reciprocal borrowing and lending and best practices in managed areas such as circulation services. Collaborate with other college units for proper recovery of library resources. * Create and manage requisitions for all library materials, including monographs, serials, electronic resources, and subscriptions. Perform acquisitions activities in Colleague, Ellucian Cloud Self Service, Perceptive Content, and ImageNow. * Maintain vendor relationships and check vendor invoices for billing accuracy and receipt of/access to purchased resources. Monitor all orders and the acquisitions budgets for both campus libraries and maintain/update the acquisitions database. * Manage and execute various programs, policies and procedures to assure efficient and accurate circulation, database management and access resources for all areas of library public services which include the maintenance of online and manual library records as applicable to circulation and public library services. Coordinate with all library departments, including cataloging and circulation. * Manage the preparation of routine and specialized reports on circulation activities to include fines, printing, lost books, reserve materials, media collection, resource sharing. Monitor activities of reserve services, information access services, student all-in-one print management system (Equitrac), cash and supplies controls. * Promote and communicate relevant information on library services, availability and procedures in a clear and consistent manner. Understand, encourage and demonstrate proper use of library services to appropriate students, staff and units within the College. Collaborate with library faculty, staff and college departments for smooth system changes, including the planning and implementation of any upgrades or enhancements for the implementation of current or future ILS systems. * Manage inventory/quality control for Library, including identification and correction of records inconsistencies as they appear within various specialized software applications. Direct physical aspects of collection include stack maintenance activities to include orderly shelving of materials to allow maximum availability of the collection. * Coordinate with Computer Services the upkeep and effective working of software, hardware and the on-line system. Maintain liason communications with vendors, library, faculty, DALNET operations staff and Macomb staff. * Manage and direct the upkeep, maintenance and security of the library building and its collections as well as system access to databases and privacy of library users. Participate in Emergency Preparedness meetings and provide directions to staff as to proper procedures. * Recommend for employment, train, supervise and evaluate assigned personnel. Ensure proper support staffing during operational hours, including evenings and weekends. Direct scheduling and monitor work-study activities. * Manage the development, implementation and evaluation of staff training activities. * Responsible for the daily operations of printing/copying machines and needed supplies. * Participate in professional development to maintain current awareness of library standards, trends and practices. * Serve on MCC committees and task forces. * Other duties as assigned. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required. Transcripts must be submitted with the application. Copies are acceptable for use during the screening process. Demonstrated experience with integrated library systems, word processing applications and database management preferred.
