Position Summary
Job Summary
The Library Page position at Gelnett Memorial Library is a temporary, non-benefit eligible, non-exempt role designed to support the daily operations and services of the library. The primary responsibilities include assisting with shelving, organizing library materials, providing basic customer service, and contributing to the overall upkeep of the library environment.
Specific Responsibilities
Shelving and organizing library materials such as books, magazines, and other resources.
Assisting patrons in locating materials and answering basic inquiries.
Maintaining the tidiness and organization of library shelves and study areas.
Assisting in processing new library materials, including checking them in and labeling.
Participating in library events and workshops and helping with their setup and registration.
Supporting library staff in preparing reports and maintaining usage statistics.
Attending meetings and training sessions as required.
Providing backup coverage at the library circulation desk when needed.
Contributing to maintaining a welcoming and productive library environment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Basic understanding of library organization and the Dewey Decimal System.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with library staff.
Familiarity with basic computer operations and software applications.

Additional Requirements
This position is paid $8.50 per hour with estimated 5 hours per week.
The library is open 9-7 Mon -Thurs, and 9-5 Fri-Sat.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be approved for Federal Work Study.
Physical Demand
Position requires the ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
Ability to move around the library.
Ability to communicate effectively and hear instructions.
Occasional manual dexterity for handling library materials.
Occasional stooping, crouching, and bending.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
Working conditions are indoors.
