Our in-house legal function provides first class legal advice and support to the 25+ companies in the Mourant Governance Services group and the directors and senior management of those compani
es. The workload is diverse and covers all our locati
ons.
Risk (in conjunction with the Mourant CRCO & other responsible offi
- cers)Maintain best practice in legal, reputational and operational risk management in Moura
- ntGS.Identify, analyse and propose mitigation for legal, reputational and operational risks arising from MourantGS client mand
- ates.Support the ongoing development of a strong compliance culture and assist client facing teams in maintaining confidentiality and legal privilege where appropr
iate.Contra
- ctualManage global terms of business, jurisdiction terms, and data processing t
- erms.Review and assist in negotiating NDAs, supplier contracts, license agreements, and other commercial contr
- acts.Draft and maintain intra-group agreements, including outsourcing and service agreem
- ents.Lead a project to automate engagement letters for global consist
ency.Regul
- atoryAssist with advising on obligations arising under applicable codes of practice and other codes and guidance notes published by regula
- tors.Assist on regulatory licence applications, and the process for ending existing registrations, for all MourantGS enti
- ties.Advise on the legal and regulatory issues regarding overseas wor
- king.Advise on automatic exchange of information laws and regulations including FATCA, CRS DAC6 and
- MDR.In conjunction with colleagues in our Risk & Compliance team, assist on advising on AML issues including eligible introducer letters and the legal aspects of ABC, SOW/SOF and other CDD related is
sues.Co-ordination within Mo
- urantPrepare papers for local boards and senior management on relevant legal and regulatory is
- sues.Assist in managing senior executive and key stake holder relationships across our locations, if requ
- ired.Provide legal input on policies, procedures and guidance n
- otes.Work closely with the wider Mourant General Counsel team in respect of matters which have a Mourant group im
pact.Internal licensing / pro
- jectsAssist with preparing the legal section of ILA/SOGA forms. Other colleagues will deal with all governance aspects associated with internal licen
- sing.Assist with advising on specific projects affecting Mourant Governance Services including new products, entries into new jurisdictions, office moves, acquisitions and disposals, if requ

We are looking for a lawyer with significant post-qualification experience, ideally in a commercial law firm or in-house legal term. Corporate / funds law experience or prior in-house legal experience (particularly if gained within a regulated environment) is advant
ageous.
CGI and/or STEP qualifications are advantageous. You will be supported to achieve such qualifications if you wish t
- o do so.
