Pay Range: Pay rate is dependent on the number of courses taught for the School of Public Affairs (SPA):
- 1st & 2nd course taught for SPA = $3,250/course
- 3rd & 4th course taught for SPA = $3,450/course
- 5th course and beyond taught for SPA = $3,750/course
This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Work Location: Determined by course modality (i.e., on-site if teaching an in-person course; remote if teaching an online course; or a combination of the two if teaching a hybrid course)

Summary
The College of Public Service at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications to establish and maintain an ongoing pool of lecturer applications from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions for the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs will be made.
The UCCS Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education’s Commission on Accreditation. Accreditation of a baccalaureate or master’s social work program by the Council on Social Work Education’s Commission on Accreditation indicates that it meets or exceeds criteria for assessing program quality evaluated through a peer review process. An accredited program has sufficient resources to meet its mission and goals. The Commission on Accreditation has verified that it complies with all sections of the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards. Accreditation applies to all program sites and program delivery methods of an accredited program. Accreditation provides reasonable assurance about the quality of the program and the competence of students graduating from the program. Essential Functions
This is a part-time lecturer position and appointments are made on a semester-by-semester basis. The person in this position will primarily teach undergraduate-level courses in Social Work, with the possibility of occasional course assignments at the graduate level as needed.
The successful candidate will be prepared to teach required courses within the Social Work major including but not limited to: Introduction to Social Work; Social Work Research; Human Behavior and the Social Environment; Contemporary Issues in Social and Public Policy; Social Work Practice with Individuals, Families, and Groups; and/or Social Work Practice with Organizations and Communities. Course offerings include day and evening classes as well as the ability to teach in a variety of formats (e.g., face-to-face, hybrid, and online).
Duties include preparing syllabi, conceptualizing development, teaching tasks in accordance with Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accreditation, and management of student course grades in the learning management system.

Minimum Qualifications:
- An earned Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
- A minimum of 24 months full-time, or equivalent, post-MSW professional social work experience.
- A doctoral degree or an active social work license in any U.S. state by the time of hire. Applicants without a doctoral degree must have active social work license in Colorado within 12 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An earned Doctor of Social Work (DSW) or Ph.D. in Social Work (or related field).
- At least 9 months of teaching and/or professional training experience in Social Work, or a related discipline.
- Experience in teaching in a variety of formats (e.g., face-to-face, hybrid, and online).
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. Employee is occasionally required to move. Tasks may involve looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
