Summary

Learning Support Strategist Reports to: Director of Special Education Department: Special Education Pay Grade PL1 @ 197 days Funding Source: Qualifications Primary Purpose: The Learning Support Strategist will oversee and lead in the implementation and management of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Section 504 plans and improvement of the Dyslexia program across the district. This role involves collaborating with school staff, parents, and the community to ensure compliance with federal, state, and district policies and regulations, and to support the academic and behavioral success of all students Education/Certification: Bachelor's Degree (required) Valid Texas Teaching Certification (required) Master's degree in education or related field (preferred) Texas Mid-Management/Principal Certification (preferred) Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations for Section 504/Special Education Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to analyze data and implement evidence-based interventions Knowledge in Dyslexia strategies and supports Experience: Minimum of five years teaching experience Experience with implementation of MTSS, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Section 504, and Dyslexia (preferred) Special Education Teaching Experience (preferred) Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate and acceptable PSJA Leadership Skills and Expectations In PSJA ISD, we hire individuals who are expected to embody the Spirit of PSJA and demonstrate these characteristics as they lead others.
