Summary

Purpose

Responsible for supporting all training programs within the Club that align with organizational needs, requirements and/or processes, including service model training, job-specific skill training, leadership development, compliance programs, etc. Training delivery is done through in-person sessions, virtual sessions, and Learning Management System (LMS).

 

Key Responsibilities

·      Facilitate and deliver instructor-led training within various settings, with a focus on short-duration training programs.

·      Build relationships with department leaders to identify department-specific needs and opportunities, provide analysis and recommendations on training solutions.

·      Work with subject matter experts to research, design and develop training materials relevant to skills, jobs and departments.

·      Conduct administrative functions related to training programs, such as scheduling, registration, communication, and completion tracking.

·      Collaborate with third parties to deliver targeted training programs.

·      Coordinate training needs such as facility booking and materials procurement within assigned budget.

·      Collect feedback on training programs and adjust current programs accordingly to improve effectiveness.

·      Track and maintain compliance training including occupational health & safety, Smart Serve, First Aid, etc.

·      Develop and update job aids and on-the-job training material concurrent with delivery of training programs.

·      Maintain e-learning content on LMS (Dayforce Learning), ensuring relevance to business needs and compliance.

·      Make recommendations on training practices with the goal of improving training effectiveness and workforce development.

·      Assist department leaders in assessing and evaluating employees’ skills, knowledge and performance after participation in training programs.

·      Stay up to date on training best practices, trends and adult learning principles.

·      Works in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and any safety policies and procedures set out by the Club.

·      Conduct self in alignment with the Well Played service model (Prompt, Personalized, Polite) to support member services and respect in the workplace.

 

Qualifications:


Education/Certification: 

·        Post-secondary education in adult learning, instructional design or related fields preferred

 

Experience: 

·        3+ years’ experience in adult learning and training; must be experienced in full cycle of training programs, including the development of training materials, delivery of training sessions, and analysis of training effectiveness

·        A background in hospitality or customer service an asset

 

Skills and Knowledge: 

·        Demonstrated knowledge and application in adult education practices, instructional design, eLearning standards and best practices; knowledge in emerging learning technologies (e.g. social learning, eLearning, blended learning) an asset

·        Strong communication and collaboration skills; demonstrated ability to deliver effective training to varying group sizes, through both in-person and virtual settings

·        Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite and editing software; comfort in using and learning new software systems

·        Knowledge in LMS administration an asset
