We are transforming our L&D team and we have created a new role for a Learning Solutions Designer to develop engaging online and blended learning solutions for our Manufacturing and Distribution teams.

Our Learning and Development team is at the heart of our aim to enhance our manufacturing and distribution capabilities. As part of an engaged and supportive team, you will partner with site leadership teams to own the L&D agenda across your site and depots, directly impacting our operational excellence and management skills.


You would be joining a high-performing, fun, national L&D team that is committed to not only the development of their colleagues but also their own development and the achievement of both personal and business goals.


As a Learning Solutions Designer, you will work in collaboration with stakeholders from across Manufacturing, Distribution, Health & Safety and Quality to translate business needs into engaging learning solutions.


You will design content for facilitator-led, online and blended learning solutions and work with the learning delivery team to raise overall standards in learning design, using the latest methodologies.

You will be an expert in your field and in-touch with the latest thinking in learning design and technologies.


Essential Ingredients:

  • Experience in turning high level design briefs into practical, high quality and cost-effective learning solutions, influencing business stakeholders in what good learning looks like
  • Understands the learning theories and principles that underpin the design and use of face to face and digital learning technologies
  • A genuine passion and ability to create innovative e-learning that makes a difference
  • Active interest and understanding of trends in learning technologies and ability to bring in new and innovative thinking
  • Excellent written communication and design skills with an ability to translate ideas into visually engaging content
  • Experience of using SCORM / AICC standards with Learning Management Systems – ideally SAP Success Factors
  • Proficiency in one or more authoring tools, ideally Articulate Storyline / Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud or other digital design tools (preferable)


The role location is flexible and will involve a blend of working from home and travel to our Centre offices (in Bolton).
