ARX is seeking a dynamic
Lead Structural Engineer to join our team in
Washington D.C., Pittsburgh or
Louisville and drive impactful projects across North America. Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the design and analysis of complex underground structures, such as tunnels, caverns, and underground transit systems.
- Provides technical leadership in structural engineering with experience in delivering major infrastructure projects.
- Develop and review construction plans, drawings, and specifications for underground structures, and supervise the work of junior and mid-level engineers and technicians.
- Reviews project deliverables for conformity and quality assurance.
- Interacts regularly with clients and resolves project-related issues.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure that they are in compliance with the design plans and specifications and resolve any construction-related issues which might arise during the project.
- Mentor and train junior and mid-level engineers to help them develop their skills and expertise in structural engineering for underground structures.
Requirements
- MS in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structures.
- Professional Engineering registration required.
- Minimum 8-10 years related experience in technical roles on infrastructure/heavy civil engineering. Underground Construction works experience preferred.
- Ability in FEM modeling and structural verifications of temporary support of excavation, reinforced concrete, and steelwork.
- Strong communication (both oral and written), analytical and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of her/his work time to support projects across North America.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
