Melbourne based, full time, hybrid.
We're on a mission to revolutionise the way people find and buy brand new homes in Australia.
As a growing property portal specialising in off-the-plan apartments and townhouses, we have begun expanding our reach and integrating into new categories like home builder comparisons.
We're a profit-for-purpose technology company using data and technology to empower prospective buyers and connect them with reputable industry players. We're building a modern, scalable platform to support our expanding portfolio and are looking for a talented engineer to join our team.
About the Role:
We're seeking a Full Stack Engineer with a strong focus on front-end development, particularly with React and NextJS. You'll play a crucial role in building out our new platform, which we are mid way through transitioning from a legacy system to a modern tech stack (we can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this!) to support our expanding business. You will be instrumental in creating a seamless, engaging user experience across our multiple brands as we scale.
Our Products
- Urban.com.au - Connecting buyers with Australia's largest range of new and off-the-plan apartments & townhomes
- The Urban Industry Portal - Where industry professionals showcase and sell new developments
- A new platform acquisition we are yet to announce!!!
Your Contribution
- Although all our engineers are full stack, you will be the person who leads the architecture and development of a robust, scalable, and maintainable front-end architecture.
- Contribute to full-stack development tasks as needed, supporting the overall platform architecture with a focus on implementing responsive and intuitive user interfaces that enhance the user experience.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes. Fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest front-end technologies and best practices.
- Help us build a high-performing, scalable platform to support multiple brands and categories.
- Communicate to both non technical and technical team members across the business. Get everyone excited about the future and advocate for technical excellence, whilst ensuring we are grounded and aware of the trade-offs.
What our ideal candidate looks like…
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on front-end development using React. Preferably, you have worked in a team that had site and / or business-wide responsibility.
- A full-stack contributor is a must. Although you will be a front-end wizard you will still have a solid understanding (and interest!) in API development and ‘back-end’ technologies.
- A passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and TypeScript and experience with modern front-end frameworks and tools.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code whilst being pragmatic and able to deliver value on a daily cadence.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with iteratively migrating from legacy systems is a plus. We are talking data migration experience, releasing iteratively, vertical slices in a non-greenfields world - iykyk.
