The Cloud Application Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer will Enhance availability, performance, and stability of OpenText services, automate repetitive tasks, and develop scalable solutions.
What The Role Offers
- Collaborate with Agile squads and business partners to resolve problems and enhance logging, monitoring, and metrics.
- Develop proactive monitoring and alerting to reduce incidents.
- Address incidents per Service Level Agreements and provide feedback on system stability.
- Create runbooks and patterns for production environments.
- Engage in technical discussions and transition sustain activities with development teams.
- Develop capabilities for real-time monitoring of key performance indicators.
- Partner with application owners to mitigate risks and remediate audit issues.
- Own incident resolution, participate in RCA and SWAT investigations.
- Validate and verify changes from infrastructure and development teams.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting.
- Resolve performance issues and design solutions.
- Maintain relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Participate in training and information sharing.
- Act as backup for team members.
What You Need To Succeed
- Proficiency in scripting software and Linux systems.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (Google, AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of PaaS technologies (Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, rkt).
- Experience with microservices and RESTful architecture.
- Use of continuous delivery tools (GitOps, Ansible).
- Understanding of message brokers (Apache Kafka).
- Experience with search technologies (Solr, Elasticsearch).
- Support for middleware technologies (Apache, Tomcat).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (shell, perl, python).
- Experience with RDBMS and No-SQL databases (Oracle, Postgres).
- Expertise in monitoring distributed systems and correlating metrics.
- Use of APM tools (Newrelic, Dynatrace).
- Familiarity with centralized logging systems (graylog, Kibana).
- Understanding of ITIL principles.
- Passion for diagnosing and troubleshooting service incidents.
- Knowledge of API gateways (APIGEE) and Oauth 2.0.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and lead complex solutions.
- Strong understanding of security best practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
