A cutting-edge power systems technology provider is seeking a Lead Technical Support Engineer with a deep understanding of power electronics to support complex industrial, marine, energy, and defense applications. This role focuses on providing Level 3 (L3) engineering analysis and technical escalation support, assisting field teams, and developing solutions that enhance product performance and reliability across mission-critical systems.

If you're passionate about pushing the boundaries of low, medium, and high-voltage power conversion, operating in environments subject to extreme conditions—such as vibration, humidity, shock, and arc flash—and achieving efficiencies exceeding 98%, this opportunity offers a platform to innovate at the forefront of power engineering.

Lead Service Technical Support Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced L3 engineering support for power electronic systems across North America, including:
    • Functional analysis
    • Simulation and modeling
    • Deep-dive log and waveform review
    • BOM assessment and parts replacement
    • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Collaborate with Level 2 support teams and Field Service Engineers to collect and analyze operational data from customer sites
  • Develop and document troubleshooting procedures and technical guidance with input from global engineering experts and specialized technology teams
  • Support knowledge sharing across internal engineering groups and contribute to continuous improvement of product support processes
Lead Service Technical Support Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, Ph.D., or equivalent degree in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience working with medium-voltage converters (such as MV7 or SD7000 platforms) in commissioning, testing, software development, sizing, or technical support
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with P80i software or related control systems
  • Solid grasp of physical and electrical phenomena with strong analytical and theoretical foundations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely
  • Creative mindset and team-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn and integrate into high-performing engineering teams
  • Experience in field applications and a hands-on understanding of practical system challenges
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support urgent service or field escalation cases
