The Role of the Lead Security Supervisor

Lead Security Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and company property by enforcing policies, deterring criminal activity, and responding to security concerns. Assisting the Security Leadership Team in managing security personnel, conducting investigations, and overseeing training initiatives.

Key Functions

  • Monitor Security Guards to ensure that correct methods of operation are carried and out and policies are observed.
  • Coach, appraise and discipline guards as appropriate and document actions taken.
  • Assist with training of Security Guards and make recommendations as needed.
  • Monitor guards on posts, making periodic checks to ensure that they are alert and on assigned posts.
  • Check the written work of Security Guards and give advice when needed.
  • Inspects work area for cleanliness and ensures that all equipment are accounted for and in order.
  • Prepare daily incident reports and Complete End of Shift Reports to Present to Shift Manager.
  • Respond to emergency and serious matters and report to Senior Security and other appropriate persons.
  • Ensure that all complaints, calls for assistance and other matters have been dealt with and proper reports have been completed.
  • Receives briefing from Manager of previous shift, checking diaries, notice boards and relevant reports for incidents, which may require follow up.
  • Ensures that all equipment keys, vehicles, radios, time clocks, flashlights etc. are handed over, checking for any damage or discrepancies.
  • Checks that personnel rostered have reported to work, making provisions, when necessary, for shift coverage, if all persons expected do not show.
  • Ensures that entries have been made in the registers regarding the issue of equipment; also that all incidents all incidents are logged in diaries and that diaries are kept in the assigned area.
  • Directs and controls, wherever possible, any emergency situation that may arise until properly relieved by some other senior personnel.
  • Informs Security Leadership Team of all serious matters taking place in the resort, consulting leadership for advice or instructions when in doubt.
  • Be alert and knowledgeable in all security matters as it relates to the protection of company property, safety of guests and employees and liaison with the Police Department.
  • Performs all reasonable duties requested by management.
