Summary

Responsibilities:


  • Lead the account or portfolio modelling practice by guiding analysts technically and being hands-on whenever required.
  • Implement best practices in modelling operations to ensure SLA commitments to clients are met on volume, quality and timelines.
  • Transform raw exposure data (SoV, Slip) by compiling, cleansing, coding and enhancing using SQL/Excel or 3rd party tools to be able to import and analyse in the modelling software.
  • Analyse P&C insurance exposures using the catastrophe risk modelling software RiskLink, Risk Modeler, Touchstone, etc.
  • Generate reports using internal tools for data quality, exposure, loss and impact summaries, and creating maps using SpatiaKey, ArcGIS, etc.
  • Interpret, explain and communicate modelled loss estimates and loss drivers to the stakeholders with an insightful commentary to make informed decisions in underwriting and exposure management.
  • Roll-up bound accounts periodically and model the portfolios for accumulation, reserve and risk management.
  • Stay updated with the changes in models and conduct studies to estimate their impact on modelled client losses.
  • Conduct model sensitivity and validation tests to check its “fit for purpose”. Sensitivity is to understand the change in model output with change in input parameters. Validation is to verify the reliability of modelled losses with regards to a specific client exposure.
  • Continuously improve processes innovatively and suggest workflow automation solutions for better efficiencies and quality assurance.
  • Work on special projects for studying, enhancing and transforming the BAU processes to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Mentor analysts in the team dedicatedly in order to minimize their learning curve. Participate in the training programs in order to train new recruits.
  • Coordinate with internal (ValueMomentum) and external (client and industry) stakeholders to bring more value to the client.


Desired Skill, Experience, Qualifications, Certifications: Must Have:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline like engineering, mathematics, statistics, economics, actuarial science, etc.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with risk modelling software RiskLink, Touchstone or RQE along with a good knowledge of backend tables schema.
  • Extensive experience in modelling various regions (including US), perils, lines and complex policy/treaty conditions.
  • Good understanding of the catastrophe modelling concepts, methodology, assumptions and limitations.
  • Knowledge of the re/insurance terminology, theory & practice and industry.
  • High level of proficiency in data analysis, manipulation and database development software tools (Excel, Access, VBA and SQL).
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical leadership, communication, and team management skills
