Job SummaryWe are hiring a Lead QA Engineer to own and elevate product quality across our platforms, with a strong emphasis on manual testing, API testing, and automation for both web and mobile apps. You will lead a small team (2–3 members), shaping QA strategy and execution through best practices, tools, and leadership.
We’re looking for someone hands-on with test case design, Playwright / Selenium / Cucumber for web automation, Appium for mobile automation, and strong API and SQL testing skills. Familiarity with AI-based testing tools and a mindset for continuous improvement are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of 2–3 QA engineers, cultivating a high-quality engineering culture focused on accountability, continuous learning, and adherence to structured testing processes.
- Manual Testing Excellence: Design, maintain, and execute detailed manual test cases for functionality, edge cases, negative scenarios, and regression.
- Automation Testing: Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright (web) and Appium (mobile). Drive automation of regression, sanity, and end-to-end test suites.
- Web & Mobile App QA: Execute thorough cross-browser and cross-device testing for responsive web and mobile applications.
- API Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing of REST APIs using tools like Postman. Validate status codes, payloads, error responses, and integrations.
- Database & SQL: Use SQL to verify data integrity, assist in backend validation, and generate or sanitize test data as needed.
- CI/CD & DevOps Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD workflows (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions). Enable early defect detection and faster releases.
- AI-Driven Testing Optimization: Explore and utilize AI tools for generating test cases, prioritizing regressions, predicting defects, and reducing manual effort.
- Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Development, DevOps) to define quality KPIs, defect metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
- Process & Documentation: Enforce standards for defect tracking, test documentation, and maintain traceability of requirements to test cases.
Required Skills- Manual Testing: Expertise in creating structured test plans and test cases, along with exploratory testing for web/mobile apps.
- Automation Testing: Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (/Selenium / Cucumber) and Appium. Ability to build reusable, scalable test automation frameworks.
- API Testing: Proficiency in Postman or similar tools for automated and manual API testing.
- SQL & Database Testing: Solid understanding of relational databases and ability to write queries to support testing and data verification.
- CI/CD & DevOps: Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes to run automated test suites in CI/CD pipelines.
- AI-Powered QA Tools: Interest or experience in AI-based test optimization tools to enhance test coverage, reduce redundancy, and boost efficiency.
- Programming: Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript for automation development.
- Agile Experience: Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments, managing sprint-based QA tasks.
- Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to manage teams, review test deliverables, and report quality status with clarity.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience testing IoT/connected devices
- Knowledge of security testing principles and tools
- Familiarity with AWS (S3, EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch) for environment setup and monitoring
- Experience with Jira for issue tracking and test management
- Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter
