Lead Project Scheduler (Fixed Term)
The opportunity
To anticipate our future needs, we are looking for a Lead Project Scheduler to join our Industrial team in Sorowako, South Sulawesi, Indonesia and this is fixed term role.
On this role, you will be responsible with the Project team for technical oversight of the project construction schedule development and management. Normally working as subordinate to the Project Manager and/or Construction Manager. Project Scheduler shall assume the Project Scheduler’s responsibilities in periods of the Project Scheduler’s scheduled absences from site, and vice versa.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and consolidated detailed construction schedule development by the contractor, tracking & management the schedule on regular basis.
- Spot check progress in the field on regular basis and report any deviation to construction manager.
- Review Main and challenge the Construction Contractor’s schedule reports, and reporting practices
- Interpret and report project status and schedule to the construction manager
- Check and challenge the Main Construction Contractor’s plans and progress for resourcing and effectiveness, and for implementation
- Highlight variances in the plan and participate in identifying and selecting corrective actions
- Defend the clients construction scope, budget and schedule
- Assist project manager and construction manager in an event of any delay claim by the contractor.
- Guide and advise the CM team on schedule matters and raise any potential risk of delays.
- Maintain a high level of record-keeping to aid in resolving contractual negotiations
- Take a leading role in modelling and observing Health & Safety behaviour when interacting with the construction teams
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum Bachelor degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering or related engineering education background.
- Having minimum 7-10 years working experience as scheduler or project scheduler, preferably from engineering consultant company.
- Preferably having experience as project scheduler in metal / mining projects.
- Have extensive exposure using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Familiar with the report preparation from schedule update by using MS Office.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Team player, have a good leadership, and effective communication and interpersonal skills to support cross-functional teams.
- Ability to adapt to changing project needs and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Having good written and verbal communication in English.
- Willing to be based on site location
