We are currently searching for a
Lead Project Controls Engineer to work in a 12 - month contract with the possibility of extension.
The Lead Project Controls Engineer will be initially based in Milan, Italy for up to 6 months before transferring to Maputo, Mozambique on an Expat residential basis.
Activities
Responsibility for Co-ordination of Project Control activities including:
- Responsible for controlling the project budgets, schedule, risk and Change Management. Also, that the project management team is kept informed of the key project drivers and metrics.
- Support of Project Controls Team and its actions, process, procedures and deliverables. Including schedule, cost, risk and change control through effective management and reporting.
- Maintain effective project controls, including cost, budget, schedule, and progress tracking.
- Maintain risk management processes for effective project risk management.
- Maintain reporting criteria, content, and format for all Onshore reporting requirements.
- Monitor schedule interfaces between multiple contractors and resolve schedule conflicts.
- Ensure preparation of cost reports; are properly explained and communicated to the project team.
- Ensure tracking of contingency, management reserve, and approved changes to project budget.
- Co-ordination between Project Controls and C&P functions within the project.
- Deputies for Onshore Project Services Manager when required.
- Provide Project Management support to General Manager for specific tasks or issues.
- Promote a culture of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) awareness within the project.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- Education: Masters or bachelor's degree in business management or Engineering.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in major oil and gas project control.
- Major Oil and Gas project developments knowledge and experience, with Partner and Government reporting interfaces.
- Strong organizational ability and commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Effective communication and proficient presentation skills.
- Familiarized and experienced with cost engineering principles, schedule and planning principles and methods.
Job Dimensions:
- Mozambique LNG is a strategic project of magnitude cost of $18 billion.
- Onshore facilities include 2 trains total of 13 MTPA LNG plant, Marine Facilities, Utilities and Early Site Infrastructure.
- Management of a budget of approx. $10 Billion and Schedule covering Onshore scope - duration of approx. 48 months to start up.
- Co-ordination and support of all Onshore Project Control activities.
- Deputies for Onshore Project Services Manager when required.
- Provide Project Management and Project Control support to PMT for specific tasks or issues.
- Supervision of a Project Controls team in multiple locations.
Context and Environment:
- Project Entity is a multinational partner joint venture, has a large social performance element and is Project financed by high profile lenders. Therefore, awareness of the implications stakeholder management and reporting is essential.
- Will also involve regular site visits to Afungi Site which is a remote location in Northern Mozambique.
