Job Title: Lead Product Engineer

Salary: $200,000 – $300,000 + Equity

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco / New York

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain performant, user-centric frontend interfaces using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Work collaboratively with product and design teams to translate creative vision into functional software.
• Drive and deliver engineering projects in a fast-paced startup environment, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Integrate with backend services and third-party APIs to support interactive media tools.
• Contribute to system architecture and make frontend design decisions that optimize usability and performance.
• Support web audio/video features using modern browser APIs and standards.
• Ensure robust security practices, including implementing OAuth2 and OIDC for authentication and authorization.
  
  
  

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience with JavaScript, React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of frontend performance, responsive design, and component architecture.
• Familiarity with web audio/video technologies (e.g., WebCodecs, WebRTC).
• Hands-on experience working in early-stage startups or similarly fast-moving environments.
• Product-focused mindset with strong attention to user experience.
• Experience with modern auth protocols (OAuth2, OIDC).
  
  
  

Nice-to-Haves:

• Backend development experience with Python or Golang.
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with writing tests (unit, integration, and E2E) using CI/CD pipelines and frameworks like Playwright.
• Understanding of modern browser APIs and standards (e.g., websockets, IndexedDB, promises, generators).
• Experience integrating with REST APIs in distributed systems.
