Lead PHP Engineer

My client are looking for an engineer with a passion for problem-solving, mentoring, and building high-quality products is needed to take on the role of Tech Lead. This position offers the opportunity to guide a small but talented team, shaping the future of a widely used ticketing platform.

This is a hands-on role where collaboration with Product is key, ensuring the team is focused on the right priorities while driving improvements in quality, security, and performance. The Tech Lead will also play a vital role in coaching and developing engineers, supporting their growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for maintaining and improving a core platform
• Work closely with Product to design simple, effective solutions
• Ensure high-quality, secure, and scalable development practices
• Support and mentor engineers, helping them progress in their careers

Technology Stack

• PHP (Laminas & Mezzio - these frameworks not essential)
• MySQL (RDS), with a focus on performance and scalability
• AWS (CloudFormation, EC2, S3, Lambda)
• Cloudflare
• CI/CD & Version Control
• JavaScript
• A strong emphasis on best practices and secure development principles
