Job Title: Lead PHP Developer / Technical Lead

Location: Exeter (Hybrid Working)

Salary: £60,000 -£65,000

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing SaaS company based in Exeter, is looking for a Lead PHP Developer / Technical Lead to join their development team. This role is a blend of technical leadership and hands-on development, with a primary focus on mentoring developers, managing projects, and ensuring high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of PHP developers, providing coaching and guidance.
• Oversee technical decisions, architecture, and best practices.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and design teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Manage development timelines, resource allocation, and identify potential blockers.
• Drive improvements in processes, tooling, and system scalability.
• Support AWS deployments and cloud infrastructure management.

About You

• Strong PHP development background, with experience in frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or Yii.
• Proven leadership experience in a technical role, ideally within a SaaS environment.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Git, and MySQL.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Node.js or other backend technologies.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks like Vue.js or Angular.
• Exposure to Firebase or real-time services.
