Working in tandem with the Network Manager the Lead Network Engineer is responsible for the daily maintenance, administration, and management of ACE networks to include keeping the network secure from a variety of threats. Design, implementation and support of Network and Voice solutions within a global organization, providing guidance to support teams to ensure agreed levels of service delivery and performance are maintained.
Major Responsibilities
* In depth understanding and strong troubleshooting skills across all key technologies in the Enterprise Data Centers, Corporate, and Store LAN Networks (e.g. VRF, HSRP, VPC, LACP, QoS, TCP/IP & UDP, SNMP, FTP, TFTP, SSH, IPSec, NAC, SD-WAN, Fortinet, Cisco, F5, Meraki, Firewall Centric Security Design)
* Aids in the smooth operation of voice and data networks. Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
* Support Cisco ASA and Fortinet Next Gen Firewalls and effectively communicate firewall rule & policy changes.
* Assist in creating design and configuration templates for 1000 location local and wide area networks.
* Create and maintain documentation of processes, network configurations, and systems detailing locations and configurations for all assigned projects.
* Inform the Infrastructure Network Manager and IT departments of planned and unplanned system outages in a manner consistent with established communication, escalation and change control policies.
* Ability to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, with stakeholders at all levels.
* Work with 3rd party vendors and carriers to facilitate and achieve successful troubleshooting and implementations for production related issues and to improve standard operating procedures.
* Assists and oversees the configuration of network monitoring and configuration management software to identify anomalous events, perform fault detection, review performance metrics, and generate reports to support specific service level requirements.
* Assists with proposing solutions to management to ensure all communication requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings to include network designs that include selection of hardware and software packages
* Assist in the overall performance and capability of technical team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
* Highly customer focused when setting priorities, ensuring performance meets stakeholder and customer expectations, able to understand the impact on the products.
* Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple, parallel tasks and projects. Continuous Improvement mindset
* Participate in 24/7 ON-CALL rotation. This also includes being available after hours and on weekends to assist with issues, even when not on call.
