Boston MA

Are you a mechanical engineer with a passion for solving complex structural challenges? Want to shape the future of energy storage systems? We’re looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in Structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to join their dynamic engineering team and help design, validate, and optimize cutting-edge energy storage technologies.

About the Role:

As a core member of the mechanical design team, you’ll lead structural analysis efforts across a range of energy storage products — from cell enclosures to full battery systems. Your insights will directly inform design decisions, improve safety, and ensure the durability and reliability of our products in demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed structural FEA on mechanical components and assemblies of energy storage systems (static, dynamic, thermal, fatigue, crash/load case scenarios).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence product architecture, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
  • Validate simulation results with physical testing and iterate designs accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain best practices for FEA modeling, meshing, and boundary conditions specific to battery systems.
  • Contribute to design reviews and provide technical documentation to support certification and compliance.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in structural FEA (experience with battery or energy storage systems is a plus, but experience in Automotive or Aerospace also considered).
  • Proficiency with simulation tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or COMSOL.
  • Strong understanding of material behaviour, mechanics, and structural failure modes.
  • Experience working with CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Bonus: Exposure to thermal or multi-physics simulations.

Key words for search purposes: structural analysis, FEA, mechanical engineer, stress engineer, aerospace, automotive, SolidWorks
