The RMA (Return Materials Authorization) Lead supports the RMA Supervisor in managing the repair process for airport security, detection systems, and medical imaging equipment at one or more of our manufacturing sites. This role involves direct technical involvement to ensure efficient operations, maintain high-quality standards, and drive customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include overseeing the repair workflow, ensuring compliance with quality standards, utilizing SAP for data management, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Lead documentation of test results and tag items for acceptance or rejection.
Oversee and perform troubleshooting and repairs on complex circuits and systems.
Evaluate returned materials (RMAs) and recommend disposition.
Lead the operation of complex test equipment to diagnose and repair products.
Oversee adjustments, tuning, or sorting to ensure high-quality standards.
Train and mentor lower-level technicians, providing comprehensive guidance and support to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
Lead collaboration with Order Management, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Management teams to ensure timely repairs and support business goals.
Advise the RMA Supervisor on test and quality issues, recommending solutions.
Assist the RMA Supervisor with workflow and workplace prioritization to maintain efficiency and meet deadlines.
Assist the RMA Supervisor as needed and fill in during their absence to maintain continuity and efficiency in the repair center.
Maintain a clean and orderly workstation, setting an example for the team.
Follow and enforce all quality and safety standards.
Requirements
Minimum of 6 years of experience in a technical repair or maintenance role, with at least 2 years in a lead capacity.
Significant experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex circuits and systems.
Experience in a repair center or similar environment, particularly with airport security, detection systems, or medical imaging equipment, is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 lbs. often, 50 lbs. occasionally, and 75 lbs. seldom.
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch or squat, kneel or crawl, sit, stand for long periods of time, turn, and work in unusual positions requiring full body mobility.
Must be able to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex or extend neck, and have good hand and finger dexterity.
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
