Lead Java Developer



About the role: We are looking for an experienced Lead Java Developer to join our partner’s team. The role focused on providing technical guidance, designing scalable and efficient applications, and mentoring team members. The ideal candidate has strong proficiency in Java backend development and a passion for building robust, efficient, and user-friendly solutions. 


At our partner, you will:

  • Lead the design and implementation of application architectures based on functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Drive application development in a banking environment, contributing to an exciting cryptocurrency-related project.
  • Align application designs with enterprise architecture standards and technical roadmaps.
  • Analyze and resolve operational and program-related errors.
  • Collaborate on test planning, execution, and optimization.
  • Design software components and ensure their seamless integration with business requirements.
  • Conduct code reviews, enforce development best practices, and mentor new team members as well as junior and mid-level developers.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to continuously improve applications.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in Java development.
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API design.
  • Experience with build and version control tools (e.g., Maven, GitLab) and release management.
  • Experience with database management systems (Oracle, SQL, NoSQL) and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of branching techniques and modern development workflows.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, coding principles,  and modern software architectures (e.g. microservices).
  • Knowledge of testing strategies.
  • Proficiency in English (German knowledge is a bonus).


Nice to have:

  • Front-end development experience, ideally with Angular.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS).
