As a Lead Integration & Automation Engineer, a typical day might include the following: * Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of electric power system automation and industrial control systems including related protocols, serial and network communications, security, and logic programming. * Develop and analyze product specifications and functional and validation tests. * Write and maintain product documentation including application guides, data sheets, and instruction manuals. * Provide technical and market analyses to evaluate proposed products or enhancements. * Perform analysis and tests on competing automation products, or perform as technical lead on assigned projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Maintain advanced technical expertise in power system integration and automation to lead in the development and enhancement of SEL products. * Lead in defining, developing, and analyzing product specifications, functional tests, and system validation processes. * Serve as the subject matter expert or technical lead for projects. Diagnose complex customer reported problems with integration and communication features and document issues for developers. * Lead in the development of technical and market analysis to evaluate proposed products or enhancements. Required Qualifications * B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent * Typically 6+ years of experience in setup and configuration with a broad range of network devices and interfaces * Typically 6+ years of experience in electric utility, industrial plant or engineering firm * Experience applying and troubleshooting serial, Ethernet, and multiple communication protocols and their application in an electrical power system environment * Experience with at least 4 of the following: SEL Protocols, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-103, -101, -104, Modbus, DNP3, PRP, IEEE 1588 * Ability to work effectively and professionally with internal and external customers Location Information This position is located in Charlotte, NC, a vibrant and bustling metropolis located in the heart of North Carolina. Pay Range Data Lead Engineer: 90,000 - 125,000 We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level.
