We are seeking a highly skilled PL/SQL & Unix Shell Scripting Lead Developer with 8–12 years of robust experience in Oracle database development and hands-on expertise in PL/SQL programming. The ideal candidate will have deep technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience leading and mentoring development teams. Prior exposure to capital markets or financial services domains is preferred.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust PL/SQL code for Oracle database applications.
- Create and optimize stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages to meet evolving business needs.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, business analysts, and project managers to translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Conduct database performance tuning, including code and query optimization, to ensure efficient data access.
- Develop and manage Unix shell scripts to automate data workflows, system tasks, and job scheduling activities.
- Troubleshoot and debug both PL/SQL code and Unix scripts to ensure seamless functionality and minimal downtime.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement through peer feedback and adherence to best practices.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, data anomalies, and integration issues across systems.
- Keep current with emerging trends, tools, and best practices in Oracle database development and Unix scripting.
- Modify or enhance shell scripts based on changing requirements or business needs.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- Minimum 7+ years of experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer.
- Expertise in PL/SQL programming, including packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and exception handling.
- Strong command over PL/SQL collections.
- Solid understanding of Oracle database architecture and principles.
- Proven experience in Unix shell scripting (bash, ksh, csh, etc.).
- Ability to independently design and debug shell scripts for process automation and job control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment.
Must to have :
- Expertise in PL/SQL programming, including packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and exception handling.
- Strong command over PL/SQL collections.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux OS and command-line utilities.
- Experience with job scheduling tools (e.g., `cron`, Control-M) and automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with database performance tuning techniques.
Good to have:
- Familiarity with basic Oracle DBA tasks is a plus.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
- Domain knowledge in wealth management or financial services.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and participation in Agile ceremonies.

Job Description
PLSQL developer.
Must have
- 8-12 years of software development experience
- Data base developer experience in ORACLE 10g,11g,12c versions .
- Hands on experience in SQL and PLSQL coding, should have strong knowledge on Packages,Functions,procedures,Triggers, Performance Tuning, PL/SQL architecture level knowledge etc..
- Experience in tools like SVN,Bitbucket Version Control tools and etc.
- Good understanding of coding standards, best practices and coding skills.
- Should have good knowledge ETL tools (like Informatica,Pentaho..) and data conversion/data migration process.
- Should have very good communication skills/interpersonal skills and experience of interacting with North America counterparts/clients
- Experience in mentoring and guiding the junior members
- Proven problem solving skills and excellent team player
- Fair understanding of SDLC, Development methodologies (Agile is an advantage), and industry standard processes.
- Little functional knowledge of Capital markets/ financial business domain
