Lead Embedded Software Engineer – Medical Devices

Salary: $160k - $190k

Location: Boston, MA

An innovative medical device company are looking for a Lead Embedded Software Engineer to join their R&D team developing leading solutions for the medical device/bio tech space.

You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team working alongside experts in mechanical, electrical, and software systems. This role involves designing and developing advanced embedded software for a complex, multi-component medical device systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize embedded software for a medical device system
• Implement real-time control loops and feedback systems
• Validation & verification of hardware systems

Key Skills/Experience:

• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python
• Microcontrollers & Peripherals (STM32, Cortex-M, SPI, UART etc.)
• RTOS/Linux
• Version control and repository systems (Git etc.)
• Some experience in regulated environments would be beneficial (medical devices, automotive, aerospace, or industrial control)
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern software development best practices
