Position Overview:
In this role as an Embedded Software Engineer (Android Automotive OS), you will be primarily responsible for customization and optimization of android automotive OS and integrating and customizing third party applications on top of the OS. Your role is critical in shaping the future automotive technology landscape by effectively contributing to advanced solutions adding an efficient and robust application software layer to the SDV platform being developed on the foundation of LTSCT hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customize Android Automotive OS.
- Optimize performance, stability, and security of the OS.
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers for integration.
- Collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and integration across software, hardware, and system components.
- Participate in architectural reviews, system analyses, and stakeholder engagements to drive clarity and project direction.
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices and quality standards.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
Minimum 5 years experience in Android based automotive or embedded systems.
Track record of successful project deliveries involving complex technical systems and cross-functional teams.
Skill set (Must have):
- Strong proficiency in and excellent knowledge of Android OS.
- Proven track record of projects involving Android Automotive OS.
- Excellent C/C++ and Java programming skills, proven ability to design algorithms.
- Solid understanding of SDLC processes including requirements, architecture, implementation, validation, and deployment.
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard development tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Strong ability to help define a project, own deliverables and execute in a fast paced constantly changing environment.
- Strong knowledge of testing frameworks, virtualization environments.
- Skill set (Nice to have):
- Experience in automotive system architectures.
- Experience with QNX, AGL, any RTOS. Experience developing automotive middleware.
- Understanding of security compliance and OTA updates.
- Experience with Automotive SPICE compliance.
- Experience with automotive-grade quality, compliance and safety standards (ISO26262, ISO21434).
- Exposure to international collaboration projects and multicultural team environments.
- Experience developing of ASIL compliant systems.
- Knowledge of automotive standards like AUTOSAR.
- Knowledge of SDV software stack.
- Knowledge of automotive hardware basics.
- Knowledge of networking and communication protocols.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Python modeling.
- Understanding of DevOps principles.
- Experience implementing or integrating any of the following: IC, IVI, IVMS, AD, ADAS, V2X systems.
