Overview of certifications and job requirements
- A degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in power system analysis and planning
- Proficient with the PSS®E software package, including all modules for load-flow, short-circuit and transient stability analysis
- Proficient with PSCAD/EMTDC software
- Experience modeling Inverter-Based Resources using EMT software (PSCAD / EMTP-RV)
- Knowledge of simulation software (CYME, TSAT, CDEGS, EMTP RV)
- Knowledge of dynamic analysis: system stability, machine startup, machine control
- Knowledge of machine controls: control settings, transfer features, control diagrams
- Knowledge of connection standards (Hydro-Quebec, IESO, AESO, others)
- Availability to travel between BBA offices
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written (French will be an asset)
- Asset: knowledge of NERC standards (MOD-025, 026, 027 and 032)
- Asset: graduate degree (Master's or Ph.D.)
