Summary

We’re working with a mission-driven national security and defense technology company that’s looking for a skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to join their growing team. This organization supports a range of high-impact government programs by delivering secure, scalable infrastructure solutions that enable modern software development for defense and intelligence applications. This is a full-time, hybrid position in Woburn MA.

You’ll join a tightly knit Agile team focused on building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, secure environments, and cloud-based deployments—all while ensuring infrastructure complies with strict DoD standards. If you're passionate about automation, security, and scalable system design in a highly technical environment, this is a great opportunity to lead from the front and work on critical systems that matter.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Active Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field
  • 5–7+ years of experience depending on education level
  • Proficient with CI/CD tools like GitLab and pipeline automation
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Skilled in infrastructure provisioning tools (Ansible, Terraform, or Chef)
  • Containerization expertise with Docker or Podman
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes (EKS, Rancher) and monitoring deployments
  • Scripting with Python, Bash, or Linux Shell
  • Basic Linux system administration and cybersecurity knowledge

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance
  • Advanced degree in a technical field
  • Familiarity with the full software stack, including databases and monitoring
  • Experience with Jira, Kafka, artifact repositories (Nexus/Artifactory)
  • Hands-on with code analysis tools like SonarQube or Coverity
  • Prior experience leading Agile/SCRUM teams
  • Current Security+ certification

Tech Breakdown

  • 50% CI/CD pipeline automation and cloud infrastructure (GitLab, AWS, Ansible)
  • 30% Containerization and Kubernetes management (Docker, EKS, Rancher)
  • 20% Monitoring, security, and compliance

Daily Responsibilities

  • 70% Hands-on implementation and automation
  • 20% Collaboration with corporate IT, Cybersecurity, and engineering
  • 10% Planning, compliance, and infrastructure review
