All about the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Developer to lead our Webstore E-commerce development team. In this role, you will actively develop alongside your team, leveraging your strong technical expertise in e-commerce technologies and your in-depth understanding of Order Management Systems (OMS) to build scalable, high-performance solutions that drive customer experience and business growth.

As a Lead Developer, you will take a dual role, balancing leadership responsibilities with active coding and solution implementation. You will guide and mentor the technical team, promote best practices, and foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence. Your leadership will ensure seamless alignment between business objectives and technology solutions while continuously driving the design, development, and delivery of secure, reliable, and high-performing applications.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and Mentor:

A team of e-commerce engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and maintaining high development standards.

Collaborate with platform leads, product managers, and product owners to drive high-quality development.

  • Technical Architecture and Strategy:

Define and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance architecture for digital commerce solutions.

Own and evolve the design system, ensuring consistency and accessibility.

Guide architectural decisions, advocate for best practices, and drive key technical initiatives.

  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

Serve as the main point of contact between the development team and product, design, and backend teams.

Align technology solutions with business goals for impactful outcomes.

  • Development and Quality Code:

Oversee technical design, development, and deployment, ensuring security, scalability, and performance.

Promote clean code practices through code reviews and process improvements.

Implement best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, and test automation.

  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Champion modular architecture (composable commerce, API-first) for scalability

Who are you:

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience working on SAP cloud commerce.
  • Proven experience in customizing and optimizing Solr search functionality to meet specific application requirements.
  • Proven experience in customizing promotion, payment, and order processing modules within SAP Commerce Cloud.
  • Solid understanding of Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) solutions for streamlining enterprise integrations.
  • Strong knowledge in Java Spring frameworks, relational databases.
  • Proven expertise and hands-on experience in e-commerce platforms and solutions with a strong understanding of their integration within modern digital commerce ecosystems.
  • Experience with MACH architecture implementations.
  • Good understanding of CICD pipeline and test automation.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native components and a strong understanding of containerization technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture patterns and best practices for scalable, resilient, and secure system design.
  • Strong understanding of event-driven design approach.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to bridge engineering and business stakeholders effectively.

The position will report to the Engineering Manager
