About the Job:
Our staff work on high-quality, high-profile, local, national and international projects. You will actively participate in the complete project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out. WSP offers excellent growth opportunities. Many of our senior leaders started out as young engineers in our firm. Our Engineers are subject matter experts who can effectively communicate and coordinate technical topics with owners, architects, other engineers, contractors and vendors.
Your Impact
* Provide designs for complex audiovisual systems (office, commercial, higher education, performing arts spaces, hospitals and more) audiovisual cabling systems, pathway infrastructure and audiovisual control systems.
* Coordinate with clients to gather and document system and design requirements.
* Create design narratives and coordinated, construction documents (Drawings and CSI format specifications).
* Complete deliverables including technical drawings in coordination with REVIT/CAD production staff.
* Participate in project meetings (local and remote) with the design team and clients.
* Participate in construction meetings, review and respond to AV system submittals and RFI's
* Perform site surveys to document construction progress.
* Coordinate integration of audiovisual systems with other intelligent building systems. (BMS, Lighting control, Digital Signage, etc.)
* Clearly understand and apply local and national codes and industry standards (NEC, IBC, NFPA, AVIXA, EIA/TIA)
* Actively participate in industry events (speaking, contributing to papers / articles,
* etc.)
* Presenting to team on technical solutions, project updates, etc.
* Leads in developing work plans for addressing technical issues within project time and budget
* May contribute to ensuring staffing needs are met and key employees are retained and engaged
* Provides leadership in technical and professional activities on projects
* Develops solid client relationships
* Obtains additional professional licenses/ certifications
* Seeks out opportunities to mentor junior staff
* Pursues additional education
Required Qualifications
* Possess a four-year degree (B.S. in engineering is preferred) or equivalent combination of technical degree and related work experience designing technology systems for buildings.
* Seven to ten years' experience actively designing high-end audiovisual systems for the AEC consulting and engineering industry.
* The ability to obtain a U.S. Security clearance is required.
* Other industry certifications (AVIXA (InfoComm) CTS/-D, Extron, Biamp, Crestron, etc.) is a plus although not required.
* Design experience related to Structured Cabling Systems, is a plus but not required.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on the ability to organize and present design information to clients.
* Revit experience desired.
* Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
* Comfortable working directly with clients including federal and public clients, architects and building owners.
* Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
* Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $114,000 - $160,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
