About Your New Job

  • Oversee plant-wide automation initiatives, collaborating with vendors on design, procurement, evaluation, and acceptance of new equipment.
  • Mentor and lead a team of talented Automation Technicians & Engineers, fostering an environment of collaboration and growth.
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and Project Management techniques to enhance automated equipment and processes.
  • Work with various teams to monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify root causes.
  • Provide front-line technical support and leadership to Engineering, Operations, Validation, Development, and Quality teams.
  • Manage software revision control systems and support plant-wide automation change management processes.
  • Assist the Validation team with new process validation, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions (NPI).
  • Conduct risk assessments for new equipment and tasks, driving proactive actions to reduce safety risks and improve workplace safety.
  • Contribute to budget preparation and work towards cost-effective solutions.

What Skills You Need

  • A B.Eng. in Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Equipment Automation, Software, or a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation products, with the ability to write code from specifications.
  • Experience with high-speed vision systems (Cognex) and control networks & communication systems (ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet).
  • Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting Motion Control Systems (Allen Bradley, Emerson).
  • Experience in the development, deployment, and maintenance of SCADA/HMI systems (Allen Bradley, Schneider).
  • Proven experience in managing and leading teams.
