Summary

Responsibilities

  • The Lead Architectural Designer oversees and facilitates architectural designs and selections with clients, permitting and quality control, as well as material lists and design efficiencies.
  • We are continuously improving our processes and procedures to improve shop to field production. Our Lead Architectural Designer will help streamline these processes.
  • There is also the opportunity to upsell through our unique design/build process with our clients.
  • Working with the Production Manager, the Lead Architectural Designer will understand job requirements, materials needs and schedule.
  • Design to clients dreams and budgets.
  • Design with local building codes in mind.
  • Deal professionally with building inspectors and zoning officials in the permitting and inspection process.
  • Communicate professionally with clients around budgets, selections, and potential upsell opportunities.
  • Communicates with client on job progress and concerns, and communicates any issues to Production Manager.
  • Collaborate with team, subcontractor, and client on grade elevations, zoning setbacks, and property utilities.
  • Oversee shop to field production methods to gain material and time efficiencies
  • Anticipates problems and proactively comes up with solutions.
  • Maintains a record of daily tasks and progress on each job in project management system
  • Provides training and feedback as needed to crew members.
  • Provides feedback on crew members to the Production Manager

Requirements

  • Be flexible to changes at all stages of production
  • Have demonstrated skills in residential architectural designs
  • Find fulfillment in improving processes and solving work-flow interruptions
  • Represent the client professionally and maturely at all times
  • Have outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Uphold a morally sensitive environment for coworkers and team members
  • Minimum 3-5 years' design experience in the residential wood and metal construction
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills
  • Be able to communicate effectively with crews, management and clients
  • Be able to adapt quickly to changes and problem solve
  • A valid driver's license
  • Experience with AutoCad, Chief Architect, and Solidbuilder
