Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing, the Lead Advisor, Strategic Sourcing will be part of the procurement team and will take part of the develop, lead and execute corporate wide sourcing strategies to achieve and exceed the financial groups business objectives and savings goals. Responsibilities
For this role, experience in one or multiple of the following categories and subcategories is required:
- Corporate services such as travel, office supplies, legal services, insurance, advertising & marketing, promotional products, courier services, printing and other direct and indirect categories;
- Human resources & professional services (including but not limited to contingent talent, consulting, HR services, pension, recruitment, and training);
- Banking operations such digital banking, payment processing, cash management.
Business Delivery, Performance Management and Operational Excellence
- Take part of the implementation of the sourcing strategies and advisory services to meet timelines and achieve savings goals.
- Bring awareness of market leading processes and best practices to mitigate risk, drive innovation, and maximize overall value for assigned sourcing categories.
- Maintain accurate and up to date reporting on project progress and issues.
- Participate in optimization initiatives. Drive continuous improvement and innovation opportunities by identifying, recommending, and implementing process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to research competitive intelligence.
- Participate in contract negotiation and ensure visibility of key initiatives with management throughout the process.
Client and Relationship Management
- This role will partner and work collaboratively with Lines of Business (LOBs), Corporate Functions (Corporate), and Suppliers to develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies to achieve business and cost management objectives.
- Help model the delivery of exceptional customer service that builds trust through responsive, accurate, consistent, knowledgeable and available services and support.
- Preparation and presentation of reports to associated business units, reporting on key metrics such as sourcing categories strategies, performance against savings and sourcing project goals, and key supplier risks in assigned portfolios.
Risk Management and Control
- Ensure the financial group's risk appetite framework is respected, and ensuring risk taking activities remain within agreed limits and adhere to applicable corporate policies, operating directives, laws and regulations (including risk, compliance and audit).
- Identify potential risk situations/impacts and make recommendations or escalate to your manager. Ensure contingency plans are followed through and given appropriate line of sight and reporting per guidelines.
- Maintain an understanding of regulatory, policy, procedural and other relevant business changes as it relates to sourcing projects and supplier engagements.
- Ensure adherence to all aspects of LBC Code of Conduct and Ethics Corporate Policy and assist in implementing the Vendor Ethics and Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
- University Degree in business administration or relevant field
- Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in procurement in indirect categories such as HR, IT, Corporate Services and Marketing.
- Experience leading and inspiring teams where achieving great outcomes are valued and rewarded.
- Bilingualism (written & verbal), French/English is an asset
Specific Skills
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to explain business value propositions, present vendor management debriefs, and solutions to all levels in the organization.
- Able to work creatively and collaboratively with stakeholders and suppliers to identify innovative solutions. As various assignments are carried out with considerable independence, the incumbent is expected to take initiative in planning and seeking out information.
- Mastery of negotiation, negotiation planning and influence techniques.
- Good communication skills and business relationship management.
- Writing skills for contractual clauses and statement of works.
- Experience in financial industry (asset).
- Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
