Laboratory Technician Summer Internship
Averhealth is looking for a dedicated Laboratory Summer Intern to service our state-of-the-art Laboratory in St. Louis, MO. This position is temporary working 40 hours per week with overtime eligibility. This is a great way to gain skills to learn about working in a laboratory setting. This is a temporary internship position with a designated end date which is currently projected to be on or around August 29th, 2025.
DAY SHIFT: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 9:00 - 5:30 PM + overtime opportunities
PAY: $17.00/HR
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
* Prepares specimens (urine and oral fluid) for analysis
* Accurately pipette specimens for our Quality Control Department
* Prepare validation materials for our Quality Control Department
* Disposes of samples after the analysis is complete
* Maintains cleanliness of accessioning work areas
Preferred Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
* Outstanding attention to detail
* Prior pipetting experience is a MUST
* Ability to perform routine tasks with no errors
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
* Ability to manage time effectively
* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
* Ability to pass a color blind test, accommodations made if not
* Skill in the use of computers, especially applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
COMPENSATION
* $17.00 per hour

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required
* Previous experience pipetting samples in a laboratory setting is required
* Previous experience in a lab setting required
* Experience in a position requiring completion of a routine task is highly desirable
