What To Expect
Tesla Grand Rapids is at the forefront of designing, building, and servicing custom, highly automated, high-volume manufacturing machinery that propels Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. We are currently seeking a motivated Laser Programmer/Operator to join our second-shift team and take charge of our 5-axis laser operations.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain programs for 5-axis lasers using Tebis software
  • Set up fixtures and tooling to support accurate laser cutting operations
  • Operate 5-axis lasers to cut parts, ensuring alignment with quality standards and customer specifications
  • Conduct quality checks and inspections to verify compliance with required tolerances
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, adhering to 5S and lean manufacturing principles
  • Proactively identify and report safety concerns, maintenance needs, and process improvements to leadership
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve shop floor issues and meet production goals


  • What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 2 years of laser cutting experience, with at least 1 year operating 5-axis lasers
  • Proficiency in Tebis programming software and basic Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, including 5S
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to provide feedback and collaborate effectively with team members
  • Physical ability to lift at least 25 lbs. and operate Hi-Lo and overhead cranes
  • Possess basic hand tools and a toolbox
