Summary

Position Summary Under supervision, assist the Senior Landman in the management of a designated operations area to prepare units for drilling. Assist the Senior Landman to direct a team of field Brokers regarding title, leasing, and limited acquisitions within the operations area. Assist in small leasehold acquisitions and trades with companies holding acreage in the same general area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Provide limited direction to a team of Land Brokers on a daily basis to prepare title updates and reports, secure oil and gas leases, lease modifications, and obtain the curative necessary to prepare land for drilling within operations area. * Negotiate with mineral owners for the acquisition of simple lease contracts and/or securing rights to the mineral interest. * Oversee and coordinate leasehold extensions and renewals within an operating area. * Review title reports and make recommendations for curing title in order to reduce risk associated with ownership and development of the minerals. * Communicate and present weekly results and status updates to Senior Management. * On a weekly basis, communicate and coordinate with other departments to manage changing priorities for drilling. * Provide assistance and professionally respond to both internal and external inquires. Involve the Senior Landman when requiring additional assistance. Other Duties and Responsibilities * Assist with routine projects and miscellaneous Land maintenance. * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education, Experience, Licensure * Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure * Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, Law, or related discipline. * Prior experience with Land, Land Title, Leasing, or related activities. Required Core Competencies - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Excel, Word, etc. and use/operation of standard office equipment. * Basic knowledge of Petroleum Land Management principles. * Basic understanding of Oil & Gas Exploration terms, Land and Legal documents. * Good written and verbal communication skills to interface with management, colleagues, field personnel, landowners, and business contacts. * Basic negotiation skills. * Good conflict management skills, with ability to operate in a high stress environment in calm and professional demeanor. * Able to plan, analyze, and evaluate data. * Able to be detail oriented, self-starter, and work independently and with direction to maintain goals and tasks. * Able to understand and exhibit ethical behavior and business practices. Supervisory Responsibilities * Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities. Travel Requirements * Occasional travel may be required to other locations. * Minimal travel to Company's field operations.
