A bit about your role
A fantastic opportunity at nbn in the Australian Capital Territory OR Sydney for a Land Access and Statutory Approvals Specialist reporting to the Capability & Performance Manager – LASE.
The Land Access and Statutory Approvals Specialist, reporting to the LASE (Land Access & Stakeholder Engagement) Capability & Performance Manager, provides specialist technical support and advice to nbn stakeholders in the Australian Capital Territory. The role involves developing relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies and consultancies, and collaborating with nbn Delivery Partners and internal teams to obtain and manage statutory approvals to support land access activities. Key responsibilities include obtaining approvals, minimising risks, engagement and management of specialist consultants, and ensuring legislative compliance for nbn construction programs. The Specialist also supports the LASE team and provides technical input into key documentation and processes.
The Land Access and Statutory Approvals Specialist will work with specialist consultants to secure necessary statutory approvals and exemptions, engage strategically with key approval authorities to facilitate a smooth approval or exemption pathway, and collaborate with Delivery Partners and internal teams to ensure compliance with legislative requirements. Additionally, the role involves fostering relationships with ACT government stakeholders, internal customers, and the LASE team to support land access and statutory approvals activities.
A bit about you
The role requires significant professional experience in managing statutory approvals, primarily in heritage or environmental areas, to facilitate build activities. It requires navigating regulatory requirements and working closely with Delivery Partners.
It requires expertise in working with ACT government agencies on heritage and environment approvals, managing specialist consultancies, and interpreting legislative frameworks. Strong stakeholder relationship management, excellent interpersonal, research, written, and oral communication skills are essential.
