Overview
Assists in the development, implementation, evaluation and coordination of all aspects of point-of-care testing performed by non-laboratory staff, and regulatory compliance in the Clinical Laboratories. Maintains monitors and supports the achievement of effective quality programs to guarantee a safe and efficacious quality laboratory testing utilizing good laboratory practices and good manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Provides technical leadership by directing, auditing, assessing, coordinating and delegating technical work, POCT processes, and safety and disaster processes according to LEAN production standards.
- Data Management
- Performs, evaluates, and documents advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving activities, and interprets data for appropriate health professionals.
- Quality Assurance
- Documents, maintains, and reviews quality control (QC), proficiency testing, quality assurance, and other records to meet regulatory requirements.

Education:
Education must be obtained which is sufficient to allow certification under one of the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) OR Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Certifying Agencies’ examination routes. Must meet Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) requirements to perform highly complex testing.
Note: Certifying Agencies include but are not limited to the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification (BOC), American Medical Technologist (AMT) Certification, and American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB) Board of Registry (ABOR). As long as these are met, any exam may be taken. Additionally, any regulatory agency personnel standards, which are applicable to the position, must be met.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
Additionally, at least one (1) of the four (4) years of experience in the area to coordinate for all areas except Flow Cytometry and Molecular which require MT level of education with four years of experience with one year in Flow Cytometry or Molecular.

Technician Certification (MLT) OR Technologist/Scientist (MT/MLS) Certification
