Our mission is to help our clients bring nano-enabled products to market. We are currently seeking a Laboratory Operations Specialist for a full-time, onsite position in San Diego, CA. What You Will Do: Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Laboratory Operations Specialist will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day laboratory operations, lab facilities systems, and maintenance. This individual will be the point-of-contact for both internal and external customers for requests, issues, and any lab related needs. Job Duties: * Monitors equipment by ensuring all PMs, calibrations, and validations are performed as assigned by their due dates in accordance with our quality management system. * Ensures pipette calibration program is functioning efficiently and onboards new pipettes as needed for new employees. * Manages environmental monitoring system. * Ensures all equipment is functional and communicates needed repairs when necessary. * Provides data analysis of equipment health to support lifecycle management and makes recommendations for future planning. * Manage hazardous waste vendor and submittals to regulatory agencies and act as internal resource to team members. * Organizes lab packs to support lab cleanliness. * Be a resource for standard operating procedures and work instructions for lab operations. * Makes recommendations for improvements to SOPs and work instructions. * Manages external lab operation's vendor relations. Who You Are & What You Bring Education / Background * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience * 3+ years of experience in the Life Science industry with similar duties and tasks as mentioned above * Experience performing asset management, including equipment utilization, maintenance, disposal, and recommendation of new equipment, within a quality management system. * Experience managing vendor relations (scheduling, coordinating visits, reviewing agreements and rates) to ensure quality service and competitive pricing. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: * Laboratory and chemical-handling skills. * High level of organization, efficiency, and attention to detail. * Strong communication skills. * Proficient at Microsoft Office and general computer skills. * Ability to work productively and independently and responds to tasks and requests (internal and external) in a timely and efficient manner. * GMP experience preferred * Understanding of facilities best practices preferred.
