We are looking for a proactive and technically proficient L2 Infrastructure Engineer to support our virtualized environments, data protection systems, and enterprise storage infrastructure. This role involves handling escalated tickets, performing routine administration tasks, and supporting the L3 team in delivering robust infrastructure services. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience across virtualization, backup, replication, and storage platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle and resolve incidents and service requests related to virtual infrastructure, backup, and storage at L2 level
Monitor health and performance of virtual machines, replication jobs, and backup schedules
Perform daily checks on infrastructure systems, including backup job status, storage capacity, and virtual machine performance
Carry out virtual machine operations such as provisioning, resizing, and snapshots under guidance
Assist in configuration and management of cloud infrastructure tenants, resource allocation, and access control
Support backup administration including job creation, monitoring, and routine restore requests
Provide first-level analysis for replication issues and assist with basic DR test preparations
Escalate unresolved or complex issues to the L3 team with detailed technical context
Maintain documentation for recurring procedures, asset inventory, and service configurations
Participate in patching cycles, system updates, and change implementation as per the change management process
Required Skills & Experience:
2-4 years of experience in IT infrastructure support, preferably in a multi-tenant or enterprise environment
Good working knowledge of virtual infrastructure and centralized management tools
Basic experience with backup job management and data restore operations
Understanding of replication principles and hands-on exposure to replication monitoring
Exposure to enterprise storage systems, including basic provisioning and performance checks
Ability to troubleshoot VM issues (power state, performance, connectivity) and backup alerts
Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and ITSM tools
Strong ticket documentation and communication skills
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Relevant certifications in virtualization, storage, or backup technologies are desirable
Willingness to work in shifts or on-call rotations as required
