About the client and role

Our client, a global leader in motion systems, motors, and components, is in search of a Sales Director. Our client is rebuilding the sales team within in China, and looking to bring in someone that can increase sales.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Drive sales growth within assigned accounts by identifying new opportunities and upselling existing products and services.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Manage contract negotiations and ensure successful agreement terms that benefit both parties.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (sales, engineering, supply chain) to ensure smooth execution of orders and service delivery.
  • Monitor market trends and customer feedback to provide insights that shape future product offerings and sales strategies.
  • Address and resolve customer issues promptly, ensuring high levels of customer retention and satisfaction.
  • Provide regular updates and forecasts on account performance to senior management, highlighting key opportunities and risks.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven success in managing and growing key accounts, particularly within the automotive sector, with a strong focus on OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with key clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions.
  • Deep understanding of customer requirements and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to add value and ensure satisfaction.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage complex contracts and agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Chinese automotive market, including local trends, regulations, and competitive landscape.
  • Works closely with internal teams (sales, engineering, supply chain) to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Able to manage and resolve customer issues efficiently, finding practical solutions to challenges that arise.
  • Comfortable navigating the nuances of Chinese business culture, with the ability to communicate effectively with local and international stakeholders.
