Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Key Account Manager – Business Development with a strong background in renewable energy, particularly in biogas, renewable natural gas, compressed biogas, or related fields such as refineries. The candidate will play a key role in identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and driving the growth of our CBG projects. This role will involve frequent travel to meet clients and foster partnerships, and the successful candidate will report directly to the Vice President, Business Development.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Lead Generation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the renewable energy sector, focusing on biogas, compressed biogas (CBG), and related fields.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs and offering tailored solutions.
- Sales & Negotiations: Lead the entire sales process from prospecting to closing, including contract negotiations and follow-up.
- Travel & Client Engagement: Frequently travel to meet with clients, attend site visits, and represent the company at industry events and conferences.
- Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with the Vice President of Business Development and other internal teams to align client needs with project capabilities.
- Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to provide strategic insights and identify growth opportunities.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed records of client interactions, project progress, and sales performance. Prepare regular reports for the Vice President of Business Development.
Qualifications And Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a relevant field. An MBA is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or key account management in the renewable energy sector, particularly in biogas, compressed biogas (CBG), renewable natural gas, or related industries such as refineries.
- Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of renewable energy markets, particularly in biogas and compressed biogas, is essential.
- Sales Skills: Proven ability to generate leads, manage the sales process, and close deals successfully.
- Client-Facing Experience: Strong experience in managing and growing key client relationships.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings and industry events.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and negotiate effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address client challenges and offer effective solutions.
