A well-established and growing packaged consumer food products company is seeking a Key Account Manager - Business Development with a strong background in sales, account management, and business development. This role focuses on managing key retail grocery and foodservice accounts, driving brand growth, and fostering long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Account Growth: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to grow revenue and market share in assigned retail and foodservice accounts.
  • Retail & Foodservice Expertise: Apply industry knowledge to enhance product placement, category management, and promotional strategies.
  • New Business Development: Identify and win new business across grocery retail chains, wholesalers, distributors, and foodservice operators.
  • Customer Engagement: Maintain and strengthen client relationships through regular store visits and proactive support.
  • Sales Presentations: Prepare sales presentations and coordinate with marketing to develop compelling materials and product samples.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal sales, marketing, and operations teams to align on key business strategies.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Use category analytics and market trends to shape sales approaches and customer recommendations.

Qualifications

  • 3-7 years of experience in sales or account management within the packaged consumer food industry.
  • Proven success working with regional or national retail accounts (e.g., Kroger, Publix, Albertsons, Sysco, US Foods, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge of distributor networks and grocery retail operations.
  • Strong analytical abilities and comfort using sales data to drive business decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
  • Self-starter with strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Adaptable and collaborative; thrives in a medium-sized, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
